4 Days Rift Valley & Maasai Mara Experience

Pick up from your Nairobi hotel and depart by road through the Great Rift Valley, stopping to take in views at the viewpoint to Lake Nakuru National park. You will arrive at Lake Nakuru mid-morning, check in at Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge, do mid-morning game drive and other activities before settling for lunch. Lake Nakuru is known for its prolific birdlife including greater and lesser flamingoes and other terrestrial birds like pelicans and cormorants. The park has a sanctuary for the conservation of endangered White Rhinos while species like Cape buffalos, zebras and reedbuck can be seen near the shoreline.

After lunch, At 2 pm, proceed to lake Naivasha where you will take a boat-ride to crescent Island Sanctuary for a unique walk with wildlife. The sanctuary is home for giraffes, water-bucks, elands, wildebeests, zebras, impalas and hippos among other wildlife one is likely to find at the conservancy. Birds include the fish eagles, ospreys, lily-trotters and many more. You will later this evening return to Lake Nakuru Sopa Lodge for Dinner and overnight.

Lake Nakuru Sopa sits on a range of hills that form the western limits of Africa's Great Rift Valley, overlooking Lake Nakuru and boasts spectacular views of the National park as far as the eye can see. An abundance of wildlife and birds can be found in Lake Nakuru National Park, including white and black rhinos and the rare Rothschild's giraffes. The infinity swimming pool (including pool bar) overlooks the lake, whilst the lounge, bar and dining room all have large covered outdoor viewing terraces. The Lodge is 165 Km from Nairobi. 21 Km on all weather road from the Park gate to the Lodge. 2.5 hr drive from Nairobi. 30 minute flight from Wilson Airport to Naishi airstrip. 15 minute transfer from the airstrip to the Lodge.

After Breakfast, you will hop into your 4X4 Safari landcruisers and head out to Maasai Mara Game Reserve. The Masai Mara, an essential part of the greater Serengeti ecosystem, hosts the annual wildebeest migration. Never short on thrills, this quintessential landscape of rolling grasslands and acacia savannas hosts the largest lion population, as well as zebras, spotted hyenas, black-backed jackals, hippos, giraffes, elands and wildebeest. Upon arrival, check in at the Mara Explorer Camp.

The Mara river is also home to pods of hippos and waiting crocodiles, eyeing the vast herds crossing into their territory.

Enjoy early morning game drives before breakfast then return to the camp/lodge for a full breakfast, check out and depart to Nairobi with a stopover for lunch on the way arriving in the early evening and drop off at your Nairobi hotel or at the airport.
